Turn Me Up is seeking a resourceful and hands-on Desktop Administrator based in our Burbank Office to ensure our studio’s hardware and infrastructure are healthy, secure, and performant. You’ll deploy new systems, support our team with day-to-day IT needs, and collaborate closely with our Head of IT, along with teams across Engineering, Operations and DevOps to support and optimize our hardware and infrastructure.

This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a fast-paced, creative studio environment.

This is an on-site role in our Burbank office. 

 

What You’ll Do:

Deploy

  • Collaborate with IT, Engineering, and Operations leadership to assess project requirements and hardware needs to allocate resources accordingly
  • Identify and source hardware specs for new PC builds or upgrades based on evolving project needs
  • Set up, allocate, track, and maintain company hardware—PCs, mobile devices, and console developer kits—across teams and projects

Update

  • Assist with creating and managing user and group permissions using Active Directory
  • Test and deploy new applications, updates, and security patches
  • Coordinate firmware updates for dev kits in partnership with QV, DevOps, and

Infrastructure

  • Assist with maintaining our network infrastructure with guidance from the head of IT
  • Facilitate the implementation of data transfer pipelines between studio locations
  • Support DevOps needs for build pipeline setup by deploying the required hardware, software, and scripting
  • Advise on and assist with implementing and refining infrastructure / automation to reduce bandwidth requirements for recurring tasks and bottlenecks

Support

  • Manage IT support requests—prioritize, respond, and resolve tickets in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot user connectivity and general functionality issues flagged in Slack
  • Assist with security audits and compliance efforts, answering questionnaires and gathering supporting evidence with support from Operations and the head of IT
  • Advise on and assist with implementing and refining infrastructure / automation to reduce bandwidth requirements for on-going support, troubleshooting, and security audit / compliance requests.

Monitor

  • Proactively monitor metrics such as storage, system usage, and hardware health
  • In addition to defining and reporting on additional metrics that impact development velocity, surfacing insights and recommendations to Engineering and Operations leads
  • Review system logs and monitor the network for potential risks or vulnerabilities
  • Perform regular audits and backups to ensure system reliability and compliance
  • Maintain and monitor file servers and server logs for health and security

 

What You Bring:

  • 1+ years experience in desktop administration or IT infrastructure support
  • Desire to learn and grow mostly autonomously with some mentorship support
  • Strong knowledge of Windows environments, networking, and server management
  • Hands-on experience interfacing with users and managing Active Directory and file servers
  • Meticulously organized and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in our Burbank office
  • Clear communicator with a collaborative mindset
  • Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on troubleshooting and support

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in video game or software development
  • Experience working with console development hardware and firmware (Xbox, PlayStation, etc.)
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and/or Unity.
  • Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and system maintenance
  • Exposure to game development environments and toolchains (Perforce, Unity/Unreal, etc.)
  • Familiarity with cloud services and CI/CD infrastructure
  • Interest in optimizing studio workflows and development velocity through smart infrastructure design

 

Our Perks:

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role in California is $65,000 - $80,000 USD, depending on experience and location (e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento). Final compensation is determined by multiple factors including education, qualifications, experience, and skillset.
