We’re looking for a game narrative editor to work on an unannounced game made by a small new studio formed with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Right now we are past the mid stages of development, so we are looking for a writer/editor who can do a deep editing pass on the script, look for opportunities to boost the narrative impact, as well as provide some new ideas to impact the choose-your-adventure vibes of the game.
The role is a contract/freelance part-time and fully remote job, and the project is fully-backed by a publisher.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the writing of dialogue, scripts and other narrative elements.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the cohesion and narrative direction of game lore.
- Edit the existing dialogue/script to ensure that the writing meets a high quality bar.
- Collaborate with the team to create effective and concise writing that aligns with the intended tone/voice.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a game writer or editor on at least one shipped game.
- Able to work asynchronously, since team is spread around the world.
- Familiarity (and flexibility) with game development workflows.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for games and an interest in contributing to creating a new IP.
Bonus points:
- Experience in writing about multicultural settings, particularly South American cultures.
- LUA/Love2D coding experience, or being able to edit scripts directly from code.
- Experience using Git.
