We're developing a goofy, stealth-focused 3D platformer about a headless chicken navigating a chaotic farm world filled with evil farmers, platforming obstacles, and intense parkour setpieces. While the tone is silly, intense, and proudly weird—think Octodad meets Little Nightmares (but funnier)—we're committed to expert-level polish in every aspect.
We’re looking for a creative and experienced Unreal Engine programmer to bring tight movement, stealth AI, and animation-driven gameplay to life. The systems are scoped and designed already—you’ll be implementing clean, modular gameplay and iterating alongside a small creative team. We’re aiming for a game that’s just as smooth and well-crafted as it is fun and absurd.
We know the budget’s tight—this game is totally self-funded and made with love, and we wish we could offer more. While we can’t promise big pay, we can offer a genuinely fun and creative environment, with room to grow. If the game takes off (which we’re hoping it will, thanks to the zany concept), you’ll be first in line for future work and better compensation.
Project Scope:
- Contract-based, fully remote.
- Estimated at ~2 months of part-time work (flexible hours, rarely full-time).
- Total compensation: $4,000 USD.
- Payment is not tied to hours worked, but to milestone completion—weekly deliverables and weekly payments.
What You’ll Do:
- Implement advanced 3D movement systems with dynamic momentum and parkour.
- Set up basic stealth AI (patrolling, alert states, detection logic).
- Handle animation state machines, transitions, and scripted events.
- Work with level transitions, simple boss fights, narrative code, and advanced interaction logic.
- Maintain clean, reusable blueprint systems.
- Collaborate with the designer and animator closely—tight communication, fun ideas.
Who You Are:
- An Unreal developer that loves working on unique games and values creative and fun work above all else.
- Strong understanding of animation implementation—blendspaces, notifies, event triggers.
- Strong grasp of gameplay systems, 3D platforming, and character control.
- Can work independently, stay organized, and contribute ideas.
- Bonus if you’ve worked on stylized or oddball projects that value humor and tone.
How to Apply:
Send us:
- Your resume.
- A short note or cover letter introducing yourself, your experience, and why you’re interested in this project.
- A few links to relevant past work (animation-heavy gameplay or 3D platformers preferred).
- Confirmation that you're comfortable with the $4,000 fixed budget over ~2 months of flexible work.
Applications that do not send us this info will not be considered!
