We are a new VR company, dedicated to making incredible immersive VR games. We are on the brink of launching our first VR game and are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to lead marketing efforts for this launch.
Role Overview:
This person will be responsible for managing influencer marketing campaigns, content post strategy and implementation, organic media / journalist outreach (not PR), game’s micro-website, FAQ and Q&A sections. This role involves developing and executing strategies to maximize viewership, drive unit sales and reviews.
There will be an opportunity to extend the contract based on game’s performance at launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Influencers:
- Develop and execute the overall influencer marketing strategy for VR game launch.
- Manage and optimize a budget for paid influencer relationships.
- Research and aggregate relevant influencer media lists
- Negotiate contracts and collaborate with affiliated creators to produce reviews and playthroughs of our VR game on YouTube, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
- Generate sustained viewership and momentum through influencer collaborations.
- Target a handful of large influencers but concentrate efforts across a high number of medium and micro influencers.
- Obtain commercial rights for content produced during the campaign to repurpose as performance marketing assets.
- Organize and promote a Gleam contest through influencers to drive social interactions and player engagement.
- Manage ad spend and campaigns on TikTok, Reddit, and Facebook to amplify influencer reach.
- Community:
- Develop content strategy to activate existing communities on Reddit, Discord, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
- Manage the creation of all content assets related to communication activation (GIFs, post copy, short length videos etc.)
- Engage with the community to provide support and gather feedback.
- Organic / Earned:
- Manage the distribution of game keys and incentives to journalists, reviewers, and micro-influencers.
- Store Page & Website:
- Create and manage pages across platforms the game will be published, including Meta Quest Store and Steam Store. Including asset uploads, A/B testing, copy management, price changes etc.
- Oversee the creation, management, and update of the game’s micro-website including description of the game, FAQ and Q&A sections.
- Manage reviews submitted to Quest and Steam store, reply to comments, and create Jira tickets for any bugs found by the public.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with the PR team to align marketing strategies and efforts.
- Provide reports detailing effectiveness of marketing activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in video game marketing, particularly within the VR.
- Strong understanding of influencer marketing and social media campaign management.
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing relationships with influencers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Deep experience with VR technology and gaming.
- Demonstrated ability to manage website content and community engagement.
