We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Animator to take charge of creating a compelling game trailer for WaterPark Simulator. In this key role, you’ll be our end-to-end animator, responsible for crafting the entire 75-90 second trailer. You'll work closely with our game developers and marketing team to bring engaging, high-energy animations to life that capture the spirit of our game.
Our game is built in Unity, and we’re aiming for an animation style similar to the animated sections in the Ambulance Life Reveal Trailer.
This is a project-based role focused on the trailer, with potential opportunities to collaborate on future projects.
Responsibilities:
- Trailer Production: Take full ownership of the entire trailer production process, including planning, storyboarding, animation, and final rendering to produce a 75-90 second trailer.
- Creative Direction & Concepting: Collaborate with the game developers and marketing team to develop and refine the trailer’s concept, ensuring it aligns with WaterPark Simulator’s vision and tone.
- Animation Style Execution: Create animations in a style that mirrors the Ambulance Life Reveal Trailer, bringing unique visual storytelling to the game’s key features and gameplay.
- Game Asset Integration: Work within Unity to integrate in-game assets seamlessly into the trailer, capturing cinematic moments and engaging sequences.
- Visual Storytelling: Utilize strong visual storytelling techniques to showcase WaterPark Simulator’s core elements, including multiplayer interactions, park customization, and fun, immersive park activities.
- Feedback Incorporation: Gather and respond to feedback from the game and marketing teams to refine and enhance the trailer’s quality.
- Quality Control & Final Delivery: Ensure high-quality output, including attention to detail, frame rate, and overall polish, delivering a trailer that resonates with audiences and highlights the game’s unique appeal.
Qualifications:
- Extensive Animation Experience: 5+ years of experience in animation for game trailers, cinematics, or related media, with a strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality, professional work.
- Mastery in Unity: Advanced skills in Unity, especially with the animation pipeline, lighting, camera angles, and scene composition to create cinematic sequences.
- Expertise in Cinematic Storytelling: Proven ability to tell compelling visual stories that captivate and engage viewers within a short timeframe (75-90 seconds), with a keen eye for pacing, mood, and impact.
- High-Quality 3D Animation Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software (such as Maya, Blender, or Cinema 4D) to create fluid, lifelike animations and character movements that match the vision.
- Creative Vision and Direction: Strong sense of visual style and creativity, able to independently develop and execute unique concepts aligned with the game’s tone and audience.
- Technical Skill in Rendering and Optimization: Experienced with rendering and optimizing scenes to ensure high-quality output without sacrificing performance.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to fine details in animation, lighting, and transitions, ensuring a polished and cohesive final product.
- Strong Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with game developers, artists, and marketing team members, while also being open to feedback and iteration.
- Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Ability to work under deadlines, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and adapt to project needs as they evolve.
- Passion for Gaming and Storytelling: Enthusiasm for the gaming industry and an understanding of what makes trailers impactful and memorable for players.
Preferred Experience:
- High-Quality Game Trailer Experience: Proven experience creating trailers for recognized games, ideally AAA or high-quality indie titles, demonstrating mastery in cinematic storytelling and gameplay showcase.
- Advanced VFX and Post-Production Skills: Proficient in visual effects, color grading, and post-production software (e.g., After Effects, DaVinci Resolve) to elevate the visual impact of the trailer.
- Real-Time Rendering Expertise in Unity: Strong knowledge of real-time rendering techniques in Unity, ensuring optimal performance and visual fidelity in the final product.
- Portfolio of Similar Style Trailers: Demonstrated ability to produce trailers with a style akin to the Ambulance Life Reveal Trailer, capturing dynamic and engaging visual storytelling.
Position Details:
- Contract Duration: Full-time, 1-month agreement with potential for future collaboration
- Compensation: $4,000 USD to $6,000 USD, based on experience and portfolio quality
- Location: Remote position, open to applicants worldwide
