CayPlay Studios is looking for a talented Senior Game Developer to join the team working on our upcoming title, WaterPark Simulator. You’ll play a key role in building and refining the gameplay experience, focusing on everything from core mechanics to optimization. As part of an indie development team, you’ll need to be hands-on, creative, and willing to take initiative in shaping the game’s future.
This position will initially run from December 1st, 2024, to the end of February 2025, with a strong possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
We need someone self-sufficient, quick to adapt, and passionate about contributing to a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement game mechanics and features in Unity for WaterPark Simulator
- Prototype (and co-design) new features and mechanics
- Collaborate with other team members to enhance gameplay, performance, and overall player experience
- Develop and implement complex gameplay systems and mechanics in Unity, including UI and networking (multiplayer)
- Optimize code for performance and scalability
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across different game builds
- Prioritize tasks, provide estimates and communicate progress to deliver features efficiently
- Contribute creatively to problem-solving and feature design
- Collaborate effectively with other developers and artists in a team environment
- Work within the existing game architecture, improving systems as needed
- Optimize and refactor existing systems where needed
Required Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in C# and Unity
- Proficiency in game development across multiple systems (gameplay, UI, optimization, etc.)
- Proven experience with multiplayer game development
- Good understanding of animations, physics, and UI in Unity
- Proven track record with shipped titles
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience in performance optimization for game engines
- Proactivity, passion and ability to improvise
- Experience in implementing complex systems from scratch
- Understanding of version control (Git)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and contribute to systems written by other developers
Bonus Skills:
- Worked on games from the tycoon or simulator genres
- Strong understanding of rendering and shaders
- Experience with porting to consoles
- Experience with tools like Unity Addressables
- Familiarity with Steam integrations and deployment
- Knowledge of indie game development pipelines
Additional Details:
- Work Environment: 100% remote, with a preference for candidates in or near European time zones.

- Salary: $5,000 to $6,000 USD (depending on experience)
