Hello from the co-founder of Gilgamesh Enterprises Inc.
We are a trans-media studio currently implementing an 18 year road-map that will cover a myriad of creative IP including a trilogy of pixel-art JRPG video games, a manga series, an anime tv series and a trilogy of feature films. We have secured our initial funding to launch the studio and are currently working on the first title (pixel-art JRPG video game number one) within this expansive and enigmatic sci-fi fantasy series.
We are currently looking for a team of 2-3 pixel artists (ideally with pixel-art animation experience) for the creation of art assets for a video game trailer. Whilst the initial contract will be for development of the trailer and run for 4 months, we hope to hire the same artists on a more permanent basis for a 3 year contract during the full development of the title.
Responsibilities:
- Creating all pixel art assets and animations including: characters, companions, NPCs, enemies, backgrounds, bosses, biomes, UI and pixel-art animations.
- Take part in artistic exploration, creative problem solving, and art team collaboration.
- Participate in team meetings and work under the guidance of our art director.
Qualifications:
- Experience with creating isometric and 2D pixel art assets and animations for games
- Experience creating pixel art characters, biomes, objects and UI
- A strong familiarity for JRPG video games and Japanese anime art style.
- A keen understanding of balancing quality and speed
- Can provide reliable and accurate estimates for asset creation
- A positive, polite and passionate approach to creative work
- Ability to work well within a team and conduct themselves in a professional manner
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in English
Note regarding skills:
- If you are lacking one of the above qualifications please mention this in your application and be sure to still apply, as we are flexible when assigning responsibilities to individual members of the team. Perhaps your skill set is more focused on 2D pixel art and you have no animation experience, this does not mean we won't still have a role for you. Obviously applicants with ALL of the above skill sets will be prioritized but we may require additional hires for individual art asset delivery.
Note regarding location:
- Whilst the job listing is set for USA, we are open to working with artists and animators from around the world. We will require a video call to confirm identity of applicants and we would need applicants to be able to accommodate meetings and art team sessions with those working on the PST time zone (Los Angeles).
Job Information
- Paid contractor position
- We will require 30-40 hours of work per week
- Guaranteed 4 month contract for the trailer | Potential full-time position for 3 years
- Rates are $35+/hr dependent on your experience and skill level
- Must be able to accommodate PST time zone working hours
How to Apply
Please submit your portfolio and resume with a short introduction paragraph telling us a little about yourself, your previous work and your experience in the pixel-art and animation industry. Only applicants selected for a video call interview and paid art tests will be contacted, but we thank every applicant for their interest in working on our title.
