We're looking for our new Lead Unity Developer at Hovgaard Games, a European remote-only studio behind Big Ambitions and Startup Company.
What you'll actually be doing
You'll be working on Big Ambitions, currently in early access. We have a large and very active playerbase already.
What we're looking for
A senior or lead C#/Unity developer who shipped real games and has the scars to prove it. Someone with a deep and genuine interest in game development.
You'll be leading and mentoring a group of skilled and talented developers, so this isn't a junior or mid-level role. We're looking for someone with at least 3 years of professional studio experience shipping PC/desktop games on Steam. If your background is primarily mobile, this probably isn't the right fit.
Being the lead, it's important that you keep up with recent tech trends. You know what's new in Unity 6 and you probably get excited every time a new AI model is released.
Our work environment is incredibly non-toxic and friendly. It's critical to us that you fit into this. Your interest must always be to elevate your colleagues, not point fingers.
Our business hours are mainly between 8 and 18 CET/CEST, and you'll have to be able to work in that period.
Our portfolio consists exclusively of management and tycoon games. If that's the genre you genuinely love playing, you'll feel right at home here.
You must be an EU citizen.

Fully remote work. We're 11 amazing people from Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Greece, and the US, ranging from 25 to 39 years old.
We are 100% founder-owned. No investors, no publishers. All decisions are made by us, people who love games. So far we sold 1.2 million copies and generated more than $16m in revenue since 2017. We offer the kind of stability that lets you fully focus on your career and growth.
For us, creating real unique gaming experiences is the only way to go. We don't clone games, chase market trends or port games. We iterate on ideas until we hit something that feels cool and fun. We focus exclusively on desktop games, shipped on Steam.
