We are looking for a Freelance Data Scientist to join our small team starting immediately.

Your high-level responsibility will be to build and refine our “Launchpad” creator recommendation system through its early stages and into production. The Launchpad tool will take our existing datasets, and aim to surface influential gaming content creators for specific game tags, genre niches and/or clusters.

Your role will involve leading on data science and machine-learning using Python, and working directly with the Lead Developer to integrate your work into our platform.

We’re looking for people who are passionate about video games, that possess strong data science and analysis skills, and who are committed to developing and honing their craft. In addition, this role would suit someone who is confident, works well as a team, has good initiative, is well organised, enthusiastic and has a great eye for detail.

Requirements

• Must be based in and eligible to work in the United Kingdom
• Degree-level education or equivalent in a computer science, mathematics or scientific field. (Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.)
• 2+ years of experience in any data science or machine learning engineer role.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, with experience in popular machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

Desirables

• Prior experience in the development of recommendation systems
• A working knowledge of Amazon Web Services
• A strong interest or passion for video games

Responsibilities

As our Data Scientist, your main responsibility will be to build and refine our “Launchpad” creator recommendation system. You will work directly with the Lead Developer to deliver your work into our platform.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the development of our Launchpad creator recommendation system, taking full ownership of the technical aspects and driving it to successful completion.
• Extracting, preprocessing, and cleaning large datasets from multiple sources to ensure data quality and accuracy for training and testing the recommender system.
• Collaborating closely with our Lead Developer to integrate the influencer recommender system into our existing platform, ensuring smooth operation and scalability.

Note: The responsibilities may develop over time as we refine customer requirements.
