We are looking for a bright and passionate game designer who is capable of crafting creative and clever gameplay experiences that revolve around strategy/tactics, unique mechanics & systems, within smaller controlled scopes, and with rich visual and thematic identity.

We are currently working on a project that combines unique dice mechanics with tactical, turn-based, grid-based combat and roguelite progression systems, designed for strong replayability and repeated runs. You’ll work closely with the Lead Game Designer/Game Director and a small cross-disciplinary team to define and iterate on core gameplay from early production onward.
This role is ideal for designers who enjoy building strategic/tactical systems, designing roguelite mechanics, and refining gameplay through playtesting and iteration.
Responsibilities:
- Design and iterate on core gameplay systems including turn-based combat interactions, strategy elements and progression loops.
- Design a variety of enemy characters with unique combat behaviors.
- Design and balance player abilities & items that provide synergistic and roguelite build combinations.
- Balance combat, economy and progression systems to support strategic depth.
- Collaborate closely with the Game Director and all team members to shape the gameplay vision.
- Translate design features into clear documentation and implementation-ready specs.
- Playtesting and structured iteration.
- Ensure gameplay systems remain readable, coherent, fun and strategically meaningful.
- Support and guide other team members when needed within a collaborative startup environment.
- Support in defining and shaping UI/UX.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Game Designer.
- At least one shipped commercial PC title, involved from the early stages of the project until release.
- Proficiency working with Unity and designer-facing tools, prefabs, gameplay tuning workflows.
- Comfortable working in startup-scale teams where ownership and initiative are expected.
- Clear communication and high-quality structured documentation habits.
- Availability with overlapping hours near MENA / Europe time zones.
