Nerd Ninjas is a fully remote, fast-moving, multi-disciplinary team of creative professionals that work hard and play hard. We’re working on fun and interesting projects across VR, AR, mobile, and desktop.

We seek an experienced 3D Generalist with strong animation skills to play a crucial role in creating visually stunning and immersive 3D assets for our game. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our game captivates players with visually compelling experiences. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the gaming industry and contribute to the success of an exciting, cutting-edge crossplatform game on mobile and VR.

Responsibilities:

• Rig and animate 3D assets, with a primary focus on character animation.
• Create smooth, believable character animations, ensuring proper weight and timing.
• Collaborate with engineers to export, optimize, and implement 3D assets into the game engine.
• Make sure all assets are functional and visually consistent when integrated into the engine.
• Develop and create 3D models and textures for characters, environments, and props.
• Ensure that all 3D elements are optimized for various platforms, including virtual reality, mobile, and console.
• Provide technical support and insight during the project development process.
• Collaborate with the team to conceptualize and implement creative ideas.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest 3D technology and techniques.
• Help kickoff new content ideas.
• Interface with all teammates to ensure consistency of vision & branding.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of 3D design experience shipping successful titles.
• Proficiency working with various software tools such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, ZBrush, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong portfolio showcasing 3D modeling, rigging, and animation skills, with a particular focus on character assets.
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to work successfully remotely and be available during core team hours, M-F: 9:00am - 5pm Pacific Time.
• A passion for games.
• Must be a US or Canadian resident (unfortunately, visa sponsorships are not available; applicants outside North America will not be considered).

Pluses:

• Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript
• Prior experience with Unity3D.
• Experience in the VR and/or AR spaces.
• Experience with rapid prototyping.
• Previous experience at creating assets for a game production pipeline.
• Previous experience working with outsourcing partners
• Proficient knowledge of Git.
• Lives in the Pacific Northwest.

Salary Range for this position is: $65k - $105k depending on experience and ability.
