We are looking for a VFX artist to create the visual effects for our unannounced dark fantasy/sci-fi first person shooter for VR and PC (Non-VR), inspired by games like Doom, Quake, Devil Daggers, and Hyper Demon.
We want an artist with plenty of gamedev VFX experience who would be excited to jump into a project with a small team that will offer lots of creative freedom and opportunities for collaboration with our lead artist.
We will ask you to push boundaries to make strange and memorable effects. There is a chance with this role to define and explore more unique or abstract ‘elements’ than the typical fantasy mainstays.
As Mobile VR support is required, the VFX requires many considerations due to performance constraints -- this means primarily that the use of transparent textures will be significantly limited or discouraged compared to a non-VR project. Our ideal candidate has experience creating VFX for VR and will be excited to explore the aesthetic possibilities within these limitations.
