We're developing a playful, physics-based game, and are looking for a Level Designer to join the team.

We are considering applications from all levels of experience, provided that you have demonstrable skills in this field - whether you have professional experience in the games industry, or if you have developed personal projects from scratch, in a game engine, or within other games.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing fun, engaging and thought-provoking gameplay & puzzles.
  • Taking ownership of levels, designing and developing ideas all the way through to grey-boxes, ensuring the flow feels paced and varied.
  • Prototyping, creating, iterating, polishing and bug-fixing design content.
  • Creating inspiring level layouts and compositions, taking into account player progression and vistas to guide the player.
  • Proactively contributing ideas and feedback to help us develop a great player experience.
  • Collaborating closely with Art to ensure cohesive theming of the levels.
  • Collaborating closely with Tech to develop gameplay systems, improving the feel of mechanics and overall gameplay.
  • Playtesting the game, providing constructive feedback and problem solving.
  • Ensuring that the content developed meets technical requirements.

You have:

  • A vivid imagination, creative spark and logical thinking.
  • A drive to create intriguing and expressive games.
  • A determination to push the quality and drive forward the game vision.
  • Ideally prior level and puzzle design experience, on a shipped PC or Console game, (but we are open to personal projects).
  • Developed, or have a great passion / knowledge of physics-based games, and co-op games.
  • Hands-on in-engine implementation skills, with the knowledge and confidence to work independently in Unity.
  • Comfortable working with version control and have done so before (preferably Git).
  • Preferably some C# scripting skills.

If you think you’re Pretty Cool, please apply by sharing with us:

  • Your current or most recent position.
  • Any relevant games you’ve worked on, and specifically what you developed in those games.
  • Your portfolio, which must demonstrate strong level design.
  • When you’d be available to start.
  • That you’re UK based, with the right to work in the UK.
