We’re building a management simulation game set in the Australian outback, blending authentic cattle station operations with modern gameplay systems (including drone-based mechanics).
We’re currently at early demo stage and have committed to the next phase of development, working towards a polished vertical slice.
We’re looking for a mid-level developer (part-time) to join our small, focused team and help bring the game to life.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute directly to gameplay systems, performance, and overall game feel.
You’ll be working alongside an experienced lead developer and artist, with the opportunity to take ownership of key systems while still having strong guidance and direction.
We’re after someone who can:
- Build and refine core gameplay systems
- Contribute to architecture and technical decisions
- Help shape a scalable codebase as we move toward vertical slice
- Collaborate closely with design and art to bring systems to life
- Troubleshoot, optimise, and iterate quickly
Requirements
- 3–5+ years experience in game development (or similar)
- Strong experience with Unity (C#)
- Solid understanding of gameplay systems, state management, and performance
- Ability to work independently and manage your own tasks
- Good communication and collaborative mindset
- Passion for simulation / management-style games is a big plus
Nice to Have
- Experience working on simulation or tycoon-style games
- Experience implementing scalable UI for system-driven gameplay
- Experience with AI systems or agent-based behaviours
- Familiarity with production pipelines and version control (Git, Plastic, etc.)
- Interest in agriculture, systems thinking, or real-world simulation
Engagement
- Initial contract will be for approx 17 weeks.
