Skymap Games is hiring game designers to join our design department. Designers within the department work collaboratively to deliver projects to industry partners, as well as develop our own internal games. Our work spans across a wide range of technologies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior designers and cross-functional teams to contribute to the design of game systems, mechanics, and levels.
  • Participate in playtesting and iterating on game designs based on feedback and data.
  • Communicate issues and feedback with your team, your lead, and other disciplines daily. 
  • Contribute to design iteration across teams, ensuring features, quests, and dynamic content are seamlessly integrated into the explorable world.
  • Work within established design guidelines and technical constraints to create engaging and balanced gameplay experiences. 
  • Implement designs in game engine with support from engineering or other teams.

 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years experience working as a designer in the games industry
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5
  • Experience with Server Authoritative game development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  

Pluses 

  • Experience in MMO, Simulation RPG, or similar design
  • Experience with social gameplay
  • A passion for video games and discussing design choices.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in large remote teams.

 

Additional Details

  • Location: Remote (+/- 3 hours of US Central Timezone)
  • Employee Type: FT Exempt
  • Minimum Experience: 3 Years
