Skymap Games is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Engineer to join our studio, helping us to deliver great projects in a wide range of genres and platforms. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and optimization of games using Unreal Engine. You will collaborate closely with internal teams as well as external clients, ensuring their vision is realized while maintaining the highest quality standards. Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize game systems and features using Unreal Engine
• Collaborate with external clients to understand their requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
• Ability to supervise the technical aspects of a project from start to finish, overseeing the work of other engineers to ensure high quality and adherence to engineering department standards
• Define architecture-level specifications for a project in development
• Mentors other members of their team by teaching through example. Able to share knowledge in a meaningful way
• Helps define and tackle tasks that require additional research with the team’s manager and stakeholders. Tackles tasks with novel solutions and shares the experience with team to improve group’s expertise.
• Designs and direct team on core gameplay elements, working with feedback from team to help the client’s project and relay updates to stakeholders.
• Work with the CTO and other Engineering Managers to establish best practices for the entire department

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in game development, with a strong focus on Unreal Engine
• Proven track record of working on shipped game titles
• Expertise in C++ and Blueprint programming
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience working with external clients

Pluses

• Specialization in one or more areas: Artificial Intelligence, Technical Art, Gameplay Systems, UI Development, Audio Programming, etc.
• Experience with network programming and multiplayer game development
• Experience with development on various platforms, especially consoles and AR/VR
• Experience with performance optimization techniques and tools
• Passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming trends

Compensation

Full-time salaried or Full-time temporary (Anticipated $90,000 - $135,000 depending on level of experience)
