About the Role
As a 3D Artist (Contract) at Uni Dreams, you’ll apply your creativity and technical expertise to model and texture distinctive props that enhance our comic-inspired world. You’ll work closely with the Creative Director and art leads to ensure each asset aligns with our visual style and gameplay needs, while collaborating across disciplines (level design, tech, project management) to bring our vision to life.
Responsibilities
- Prop Creation: Model and texture props in your preferred 3D software—Blender is strongly recommended.
- Stylistic Consistency: Follow established guidelines and maintain open communication with art leadership to ensure cohesive aesthetics across assets.
- UV Unwrapping: Efficiently unwrap your models to streamline the texturing process.
- Professional Pipelines: Demonstrate familiarity with baking, retopology, and industry-standard optimization practices.
- Remote Collaboration: Stay in sync with remote teammates through regular communication and coordination with design, art, and project management.
- Unique Texturing: Bonus points if you can incorporate comic-book style linework or hand-drawn textures (similar to Borderlands) to give our world extra flair.
Qualifications
- Proven 3D Skills: Experience with at least one major 3D application (Blender preferred).
- UV Mapping Proficiency: Ability to unwrap models effectively for texturing.
- Remote-Ready: Comfortable working in a fully remote setting and communicating regularly.
- Pipeline Knowledge: Understanding of baking, retopology, and other standard practices.
Additional Bonus
Role can be expanded with the following experience:
- Substance Workflow: Use Substance Painter/Designer (strongly preferred) or equivalent tools to create high-quality textures.
- Unique Texturing: illustrating comic-book style linework or hand-drawn textures (similar to Borderlands) to give our world extra flair.
