As a senior software engineer at Vivid Storm Interactive, you’ll be working on advanced gameplay features and engine source code to create a deeply simulated procedural game world. You’ll work closely with our lead designer to develop gameplay concepts into technical requirements and collaborate with teammates to turn ideas into reality.
Responsibilities
- Feature Development: Develop new gameplay features in collaboration with our lead designer.
- Rendering: Create shaders and visual effects to realize art targets in a 3D environment.
- Architecture Design: Work with our tech lead to ensure robust software architecture and best practices for a stable code base.
- Performance Optimization: Diagnose and resolve performance issues to ensure a smooth gameplay experience.
- Engine Maintenance: Maintain our compiler base and assist gameplay programmers by adjusting the C++ source.
- Remote Collaboration: Stay in sync with remote teammates by maintaining regular communication and coordination with the project lead.
Requirements
- Programming Skills: Experience working with C#, C++ (including compiling C++ projects from source).
- Seasoned Developer: 5+ years of making games, prior work with Godot Engine.
- Design Proficiency: Intimate knowledge of software design principles and best practices.
- Rendering Expertise: Familiarity with common 3D rendering techniques and systems.
- Remote-Ready: Ability to work remotely as part of an international team and communicate with our team lead during normal business hours (Berlin Time).
