We are a passionate team developing Modulus, a factory automation game that aims to bring a fresh experience to the genre. To help us build and nurture our community from the ground up, we’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Community Manager. If you love engaging with players, have a knack for creating meaningful connections, and are passionate about indie video games, this is the perfect role for you! 

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and Grow the Community: Develop and implement strategies to grow, and foster an active and positive player community on Discord, Reddit, TikTok, and other social platforms. 
  • Playtesting Coordination: Help organize playtesting sessions, including recruiting and maintaining relationships with playtesters, gathering feedback, and communicating insights to the development team to ensure the game aligns with community and player expectations.
  • Content Creation: Regularly create engaging content, including community updates, game development logs, and announcements, ensuring players stay informed and excited about the game. 
  • Social Media Management: Maintain a strong presence across various platforms (including but not limited to Discord, Reddit, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram), growing follower count and engagement. 
  • Steam Store & Community Hub: Update and maintain the game’s Steam store page with the latest news, promotional content, and updates. Monitor and engage with the Steam community hub, addressing questions, feedback, and support queries.
  • Player Support: Monitor community channels and respond to player inquiries, feedback, and support messages.
  • Engage with Influencers: Work with streamers, content creators, and influencers to drive awareness and excitement for the game.
  • Streamer Presence (Preferred): Ideally, stream your experiences and engage with the community on platforms like Twitch or YouTube to further promote the game. 

 

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in community management, within the video game industry, with a proven track record working on and launching successful products. (This is not a junior or starter role!)
  • Experience working in an indie game development studio or with early-access games. 
  • Strong understanding of community platforms like Discord, Reddit, TikTok, and others. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to create compelling and informative updates, dev logs, and announcements. 
  • Experience with Steam, including managing store pages and community hubs. 
  • Passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming communities. 

 

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with the factory automation genre or a keen willingness to learn. 
  • Experience in marketing or promotional activities, focusing on growing awareness and engagement. 
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and growth strategies. 
  • Basic understanding of video editing for social content creation. 
  • Experience as a streamer on Twitch or YouTube with an active following.
