Magic Notion are looking for an experienced Art Generalist to help bring an exciting new game title to life! We’ve been making unique and inclusive games since 2014, and our upcoming project continues that trend.

We’re looking for people who are talented, hard-working and able to manage their time effectively. As we’re a completely remote-working studio, good communication and availability is essential.

Working as part of our small team guided by industry veterans, you’ll be assisting in different areas of development alongside your core role. There’s plenty of opportunity to learn new skills, grow your expertise and make a real impact on our products!

As an artist at Magic Notion, you will be working closely with the Creative Director (and the rest of the team) to create and refine the various art assets required for the game. You will be collaborating with other artists on the team to create a unified look across the game. Your role will mostly focus on 2D art, but some knowledge of 3D modelling and texturing, and animation is a bonus. Being a small independent team, you will be expected to be somewhat flexible and able to switch focus at a relatively short notice.

Required Technical Skills

• Experience using Photoshop to create 2D assets.
• Experience creating art assets for games software.
• Experience of 2D character, UI and 2D/3D environment art, both concept and production.
• Experience of various illustrative 2D styles, especially fantasy.
• Use of asset management software (such as SVN).
• Use of Google Docs and Google Sheets for collaboration with the team.

Desired Technical Skills

• 2+ years of industry experience, with at least one shipped title.
• Understanding of cross-platform development, including iOS, Android and Desktop.
• Knowledge of other discipline’s workflows and pipelines.
• Experience with 2D skeletal animation.
• Use of Miro.
