Magic Notion are looking for a Unity Engineer to work with us on Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker Makeover, the fabulous remaster to Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker which is celebrating it’s 10-year anniversary!

We’re looking for people who are talented, hard-working and able to manage their time effectively. As we’re a completely remote-working studio, good communication and availability is essential.

As a Unity Engineer, you will be joining the development team to port mini-games and systems from the original game, as well as collaborating with other team members to achieve design goals, and to help the game achieve the target level of polish and performance.

Being a small independent team, you will be expected to be somewhat flexible and able to switch focus at a relatively short notice.

Required Technical Skills

• Highly proficient working with Unity3D and C#.
• Gameplay programming experience.
• Ability to write high-quality, well maintained code.
• Experience using source control systems.

Desired Technical Skills

• Experience working in existing codebases.
• Experience with UI design and implementation in Unity.
• Understanding of cross-platform development, including iOS, Android and Desktop.
• Knowledge of other discipline’s workflows and pipelines.
• Good debugging skills.
• Good maths skills.

Personal Skills

• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Comfortable proposing new solutions and ideas.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Able to work in a self-directed and autonomous manner.

Expected Contract Duration: 3 Months

Please Note: We are based in the UK and most of the team work in the GMT/BST timezone. As a fully-remote studio, we will consider applications from anywhere, but the successful candidate will need to be available in our core hours to sync up with other team members.

We are looking for a candidate who can work full-time hours during the week but we can be flexible for the right person.
