About [Redacted]

Our new top-secret game [Redacted] is a 3D open-world game with innovative game mechanics with a balance of combat and puzzle elements. Inspirations include The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Hollow Knight and Animal Well. 

About the Role

Candidates must be based in the UK.

The role is a 3D artist to help build out the vertical slice, but as the only (real) 3D artist on the team for now it will be a generalist role. We'll provide blocked out environments and level sketches, from which you'll create low-poly stylised props, foliage, modular assets to decorate the environments, as well as simple characters, NPCs and enemies. 

Responsibilities

• Modelling and texturing environment 3D assets, game props and simple characters
• Working with rough sketches and filling in the gaps
• Working closely with designers to decorate 3D environments and levels
• Following 3D best practices (polycount, topology, UVs, reducing draw calls etc.) 

Requirements

• Good at 3D modelling, texturing, UV mapping (Blender preferred, but Max or Maya are cool too)
• Experience working with game engines, preferably Unity
• Strong visual style, colour theory, lighting, and the ability to make the player feel things
• Good communication, and willingness to jump into design discussions 

Preferred Qualifications:

• None! Just a great portfolio.
