Skymap Games is hiring programmers to join our engineering department. Engineers within the department work collaboratively to deliver projects to industry partners, as well as develop our own internal games. Our work spans across a wide range of technologies. We are actively hiring engineers at any level of experience.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop production-level code that is clear, effective, and matches the quality expectations of Skymap's Engineering Department. 
  • Collaborate with other departments within Skymap Games, as well as our clients, in order to solve technical problems. 
  • Estimate the time needed to complete programming tasks based on design specifications. 
  • Help instruct members of the Skymap team in your personal fields of expertise 
  • Technically design and take ownership of core gameplay elements or components, and define discrete subtasks 

 

Qualifications

  • 3 years game industry coding experience 
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5
  • A commitment to a safe and welcoming work environment 
  • Strong object-oriented programming fundamentals 
  • Proficiency with C/C++, data structures, algorithms
  • Detail-oriented and reliable 
  • An ability to independently develop, communicate, and share solutions for technical problems will team members across all levels of expertise
  • Experience with debugging and optimizing code for high performance 
  • Professional attitude and ability to take and give constructive feedback

 

Pluses 

  • Familiarity with Unreal environment tools, actors, meshes, etc. 
  • Familiarity with Unreal UMG
  • Familiarity with GAS/Gameplay effects
  • Experience working in fully remote teams

 

Additional Details

  • Location: Remote (+/- 3 hours US Central Timezone)
  • Employee Type: FT Exempt
  • Minimum Experience: 3 Years
  • Full-time salaried (Anticipated $70,000-95,000 USD based on experience)
