We’re creating a bizarre 3D platformer about a headless chicken sneaking around a farm full of wild NPCs, animals, and physics-driven chaos. The game embodies a scrappy, expressive energy, focusing on physical comedy and exaggerated movement. While the tone is weird and stylized, we’re committed to delivering a polished, cohesive experience that feels just as smooth as it is absurd

We’re looking for a 3D artist & animator who can model, rig, and animate low poly cartoony characters that have personality, charm, and a sense of slapstick fun. Think exaggerated motion, big silhouettes, and rough edges—all with a strong sense of character and appeal. For the unique characters, you’ll be creating characters and animations. For generic characters, you may just adjust pre-purchased animation packs.

We know the budget’s tight—this game is totally self-funded and made with love, and we wish we could offer more. While we can’t promise big pay, we can offer a genuinely fun and creative environment, with room to grow. If the game takes off (which we’re hoping it will, thanks to the zany concept), you’ll be first in line for future work and better compensation.

Project Scope:

  • Contract-based, fully remote.
  • Estimated at ~2 months of part-time work (flexible hours, rarely full-time).
  • Total compensation: $3,500 USD.
  • Payment is not tied to hours worked, but to milestone completion—weekly deliverables and weekly payments.

What You’ll Do:

  • Model stylized characters, creatures, props, and boss parts (low-poly, expressive).
  • Adjust and alter pre-purchased models and animations for generic characters.
  • Rig and animate with a strong sense of timing, squash-and-stretch, and physical comedy.
  • Create exaggerated movement loops: walking, idle, alert states, flailing attacks, etc.
  • Work closely with the programmer to sync animations with gameplay (stealth, parkour, boss).
  • Help define the game’s tone—grimy farm chaos with a cartoony edge.

Who You Are:

  • A 3D artist/animator skilled in modeling, rigging, and animating expressive characters.
  • Proficient in tools like Blender, Maya, and Unreal Engine.
  • Capable of working fast, independently, and with good humor.
  • Bonus if you’ve worked on projects with low-poly charm, creature animation, or VFX.

How to Apply:

Send us:

  • Your resume.
  • A brief note or cover letter about your experience, your favorite stylized game, and why you want to work on this project.
  • A portfolio with both modeling and animation samples (character-focused especially).
  • Confirmation that you're comfortable with the $3,500 fixed budget over ~2 months of flexible work.

Applications that do not send us this info will not be considered!
