We have an opening at DreadXP for a Head of Marketing. As an independent horror game publisher, we’re looking for someone who is a fan of the horror games space in all it’s weird glory and wants to help us promote the wide range of horror and horror-adjacent games we work with both new and previously released to get them in front of fans who will love them as much as we do. This is not an entry level position, but is best suited to someone with experience that will allow them to succeed in this position that offers a high amount of creative freedom and responsibility.
Head of Marketing
The Head of Marketing at DreadXP is the person ultimately responsible for planning, gathering or creating all needed information and assets related to marketing, and executing all marketing campaigns and ongoing efforts to promote the company itself, as well as our upcoming and released titles across social media platforms, newsletters, and other marketing channels as-needed to maintain regular and effective marketing efforts and drive sales. The right candidate for this job is just as comfortable writing copy and editing content as they are planning and directing the Marketing strategy.
This is a full time 100% remote position, US based candidates are preferred but candidates located within the PDT-EDT time zones are also welcome to apply.
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with publishing staff and external development partners to develop, manage, and execute marketing strategies and timelines.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Work with leadership to create marketing goals, metrics, and define creative direction.
- Oversee messaging, social media & community strategy, and maintain consistent branding on behalf of DreadXP and its published titles.
- Oversee and assist in production of all marketing content and promotional assets creation with the Marketing Associate.
- Coordinate effectively with external partners and vendors as-needed for trailer production, press relations, influencer relations, event planning and promotion, etc.
- Balance multiple projects' marketing tasks, planning, and strategizing based on their respective marketing beats, release plans, and marketing budgets.
- Proactively conduct marketing research, and use previous campaign performance insights in order to create actionable strategies and tactics.
- Manage marketing budgets effectively and constantly seek out new ways to effectively utilize resources.
- Oversee the work of the Marketing Associate, offer guidance and assistance to help them execute directed tasks effectively.
- Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.

- Experience with professional tools for marketing content creation such as Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo, Adobe Premiere, Da Vinci Resolve, OBS, etc.
- High level of familiarity with leading social media platforms and best practices of content creation for each such as: Twitter, Tiktok and Instagram.
- Understanding, appreciation, and familiarity with the indie horror games space.
- Personally involved at a high level in multiple campaigns leading through launch of previous games.
- Ideally 3-5+ years of experience in a marketing role, with previous experience in a leadership/management position within the video game or entertainment industry.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing marketing strategies in the indie game space that drive engagement, growth, sales.
