About You

Are you a fan of the horror games space in all its weird glory?  Do you want to use your marketing strategy, planning and execution experience in building marketing plans to support the launch of, and drive ongoing performance of a wide range of horror and horror-adjacent games?  If you are an experienced indie games marketer excited about getting our titles in front of horror game fans who will love them as much as we do, DreadXP needs your help!

 

About the Role

DreadXP is seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to own and lead the development, execution, and measurement of marketing plans for all games throughout their lifecycle from pre-launch to long term post-launch support. This person will be responsible for and capable of defining the strategies and tactics, including content to support those campaigns, to ensure awareness and drive sales for our titles. The ideal candidate has the ability to execute those strategies and tactics effectively, and create the content to support those plans, as well as support the Marketing Associate as a member of their team in those efforts.  As a critical member of the small but mighty DreadXP team, this marketing leader will also be responsible for developing and training the current Marketing Associate, and support  their  growth through effective training and leadership.  

 

Responsibilities:

Marketing Planning & Execution

  • Create launch strategies and comprehensive marketing plans for all games to drive sales, from pre-launch through post-launch periods. 
  • Collaborate with publishing staff and external development partners to build and manage marketing plan timelines.
  • Oversee messaging, social media, and community engagement strategies as well as execute and create media in support of those strategies.
  • Oversee and assist in production of all marketing content and promotional assets as 
  • Coordinate effectively with external partners and vendors as-needed for trailer production, press relations, influencer relations, event planning and promotion, etc.
  • Manage marketing budgets effectively and constantly seek out new ways to effectively utilize resources.
  • Maintain the timelines and plans for multiple ongoing projects based on relative importance and timeliness. 
  • Provide regular updates on marketing plans and results to leadership.

Measurement & Analytics

  • Work with leadership to create and define marketing goals, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Proactively conduct marketing research, and use previous campaign performance insights in order to create actionable strategies and tactics.
  • Utilize audience data to provide insights and adjust campaigns/tactics.

Team Development & Training

  • Support current Marketing Associate, offering guidance and assistance to help them execute directed tasks effectively.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Marketing Associate to build a high-performing marketing department.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Mandatory 3-5 years of game marketing experience in the indie space, driving engagement, growth and long-term success.
  • End-to-end experience shipping multiple games.
  • Experience overseeing and training a direct report.
  • Experience with professional tools for marketing content creation such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Da Vinci Resolve, OBS, etc.
  • High level of familiarity with leading social media platforms and best practices of content creation for each such as: Twitter, Tiktok and Instagram.
  • Experience marketing multiple titles simultaneously.

  • Highly strategic, independent and proactive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a keen eye for detail, and ability to maintain consistency.
  • Balance multiple projects' marketing tasks, planning, and strategizing based on their respective marketing beats, release plans, and marketing budgets.
  • Understanding, appreciation, and familiarity with the indie horror games space.
