We put the player at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to build and maintain highly engaged communities within our games and as the Senior Community & Marketing Manager for our JRPG, Threads of Time, you will be a key contributor to our success. You will be responsible for building a strong relationship with our fans, supporting marketing campaigns, sharing development progress, gathering feedback, and growing our community through our social channels.

The Senior Community & Marketing Manager is a creative and passionate gamer, comfortable with online communities and social media, has excellent communication skills, and can cultivate a safe and welcoming community. You’ll collaborate with our marketing partners to design and execute campaigns that resonate with our target audience. Everyday duties will revolve around growing the player community, managing social media channels, and leading multi-channel community engagement and content strategies.

You’ll be working on Threads of Time, a 2.5D JRPG inspired by Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy where you get to travel from the prehistoric era to the end of time!

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning and project management for community and social media strategies
  • Support the creation and delivery of marketing campaigns and analyze their effectiveness
  • Ensure the production of marketing and community assets - in collaboration with the development team and partners - such as videos, articles, livestreams, interviews, etc.
  • Engage directly with fans on social media, keeping them motivated and involved daily
  • Foster and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for a game community
  • Post, update, monitor, and engage with forums on multiple platforms, including email, Steam, Discord, Reddit, Twitter, TikTok, and Imgur, amongst others
  • Manage crowdfunding campaigns from inception to reward delivery
  • Utilize platform and audience data to continually optimize how we can successfully grow and engage our community
  • Stay up to date on the latest social media trends and topics of conversation
  • Conduct surveys, research, and feedback from the community on issues and trends affecting the player experience
  • Create external-facing communications and press releases
  • Manage relationships with journalists, content creators, influencers, and key stakeholders

 

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience managing online communities and developing strategic plans in the video game industry
  • A love and deep knowledge of JRPGs
  • Great communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in social media platforms (Discord, Reddit, Twitter, TikTok, etc.)
  • Energized by being an official spokesperson, enjoy public speaking, and are a natural storyteller
  • Writing skills: you need to have a passion and flair for chatting with community members, as well as writing professionally to the press, influencers, and in social media
  • A high level of maturity, a strong work ethic, and a professional attitude
  • Worked on at least one game launch in a Community Manager capacity

 

Pluses

  • Experience with digital asset creation (video, photo, podcasts, etc.)
  • Resident of either Ontario or Quebec, Canada or willing to relocate

 

Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 CAD

 

This is a full-time position with options for either a contract or permanent arrangement, which will be discussed during the interview process.
